“Behind the Music” once was a high-flying VH1 television documentary series, with a tried-and-true formula about the dramatic ascents and abrupt declines of popular musicians, told through bombastic narration and soft-focus interviews. Then it all came crashing down. But now it’s back: The Hollywood Reporter said VH1 would order about 10 new episodes of “Behind the Music,” which would chronicle the ups and downs of performers like Scott Weiland and Lil Wayne. “We always hear about the show, even now,” said Jim Olde, VH1’s executive vice president for original programming, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “It’s amazing how much affection viewers have for it.” Jim Forbes, who provided the show’s distinctive voice-overs in its original run, will return as the narrator.

Quentin Tarantino

Rips into Interviewer

Has an IQ measured at 160, despite dropping out of high school.

On collecting movies: "If you're a film fan, collecting video is sort of like marijuana. Laser discs, they're definitely cocaine. Film prints are heroin, all right? You're shooting smack when you start collecting film prints. So, I kinda got into it in a big way, and I've got a pretty nice collection I'm real proud of."

On Kill Bill 3

(On making another "Kill Bill" movie) "Oh yeah, initially I was thinking this would be my "Dollars Trilogy". I was going to do a new one every ten years. But I need at least fifteen years before I do this again. I've already got the whole mythology: Sofie Fatale will get all of Bill's money. She'll raise Nikki, who'll take on The Bride. Nikki deserves her revenge every bit as much as The Bride deserved hers. I might even shoot a couple of scenes for it now so I can get the actresses while they're this age."

Grapevine Fires Song Explained

Frontman Ben Gibbard explained this track to VH1 News, which is centered around the 2007 wildfires that raged in California: "I was in LA, after we were there for the Grammys or something like that and I decided to stay a couple more days. I ended up with a couple friends of mine, Jonathan Rice and our friend Autumn de Wilde who's a great photographer, and her daughter. It's a very literal story. We were having some wine and having a picnic on top of this big cascading hill with the ocean off in the distance, and at the time there were a lot of fears about these fires creeping down from the grapevine. This was a very real moment, just seeing her daughter, playing in this cemetery. It struck me as this really powerful image of a child playing in a cemetery, not having any understanding of what this area means. It was a really interesting example of youth having a way with death."

the video and song are both awesome

James Franco BEAUTY AND BRAINS!!!!!!!

James Franco has both! Following up his success in the Academy Award-winning Milk, Franco is about to become a published author.
The actor has sold a collection of short stories to publishing house Simon & Schuster, whose standards of quality insure that Franco earned the deal with hard work and not just his celebrity status. Right?
A dedicated writer, Franco's turned down movie roles to concentrate on his creative writing degree from New York University and writing classes at Columbia. He is also set to portray author Allen Ginsburg in a new biopic.

Prince Charles named world's best dressed man

LONDON (AFP) – Prince Charles has beaten off competition from US President Barack Obama to be named the world's best dressed man by Esquire magazine.
"He is perfectly turned out in a double-breasted suit. Admirably, the prince keeps his wardrobe in appropriate style: we're told he has a room laid out like a tailor's shop," the men's magazine said.
Prince Charles, 60, keeps it simple and has worn suits by Saville Row tailors Gieves and Hawkes, complete with pocket handkerchief and silk tie, for years. Esquire said he was "always incredibly well dressed".
The prince, who is heir to the British throne, beat off competition from Obama -- who came fourth in the top ten -- artist David Hockney (seventh), tennis player Roger Federer (eighth) and US rapper Andre 3000 (tenth).
Prime Minister Gordon Brown, however, was named one of the worst dressed, with the magazine noting he had once "turned up in the Iraqi desert wearing black lace-ups".
London Mayor Boris Johnson -- renowned for his slightly chaotic appearance -- was also criticised for having "jacket pockets like second-hand bookshops, and hair the result of an encounter with a ghost in a wind tunnel".

LONDON – Michael Jackson returned to the stage Thursday after eight years marked by more scandal than music-making and told a crowd of screaming fans that he would play a series of London concerts before retiring from public performance.
Wearing his trademark sunglasses and a silver-embroidered black military-style jacket, he said the series of shows in July will be his "final curtain call."
Jackson appeared at the 02 Arena — where the concerts will be staged — to announce the gigs.
"This is it. This is it," Jackson said, as the fans screamed. "These will be my final shows, performances, in London. This is it. And when I say this is it, I mean this is it.
"This is really it. This is the final curtain call, OK? See you in July."
Jackson didn't specify how many shows he'll play, though posters have shown he's booked for 10 dates.
Tickets are expected to sell quickly for the shows, despite concerns the 50-year-old star may not be up for a return to the spotlight.
The King of Pop has been plagued by financial, legal, and medical woes for years and has not performed a major concert since 2001. His last studio album was released the same year.
A previous attempt to relaunch Jackson's career collapsed amid reports of ill health and court action.

It Will All Work Out
Ephesians 1:11 is a powerful verse with a vital lesson,
In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will.
Over the 30 years of my Christian life, I have come to have great confidence in God's ability to work things out. No matter what is going on or how obscured my understanding of a situation is, I believe God is always working things according to His great sovereign plan.
It is as if there is this giant tapestry that God is weaving, and my life is a part of it. I sometimes get caught up with the temporal things and the stuff that is happening, but God reminds me, "Hey, nothing is taking Me by surprise. I'm weaving all of these things into this great pattern. Your mistakes, the stuff that happens to you, it is all going to turn out alright!"
Has it ever occurred to you that nothing occurs to God? The thing you are embroiled in right now did not take God by surprise. He did not look at your situation and say, "Oh no! I didn't figure on that! Gabriel, do you have any suggestions? What are we going to do?"
I know that sometimes in my microscopic view of things I have said, "Lord, such and such has got to happen." And God has replied, "Well, you don't have the big picture." Then, as time went on, God pulled the camera back, and I got the wide view, and I realized God was up to something very cool--totally apart from what I thought "had to happen."
Whatever your situation, you can rest assured that God has plans to work things out. God is working all things after the counsel of His own will. So relax! Even if your present circumstances have totally taken you by surprise, God saw it coming and made provision far ahead of time.

Beatles edition of `Rock Band' video game planned
beatles Pictures, Images and Photosfrom left; Paul McCartney, George Harrison, …

NEW YORK – Rock Band is getting the perhaps greatest rock group of all time: The Beatles.
The Beatles' management said Thursday that a Beatles version of the Rock Band video game will debut Sept. 9. In addition, they'll sell accompanying instruments modeled after the ones used by the band.
This is the first time Rock Band has based a game on one group, according to MTV Games. It has not yet been determined what Beatles songs will be included in the edition, available for Xbox360, Playstation 3, and Wii video game consoles.
Representatives of the Beatles and Rock Band had been planning a collaboration for months, but initially, the final project was not supposed to be a Rock Band game, but another type of game compatible with the instruments used for the popular series.
But MTV Games said in a statement: "As we moved through the creative process, it just seemed to make sense to clearly highlight the association between The Beatles game and the critically acclaimed Rock Band franchise. The game is being developed by Harmonix and will utilize and build upon the core foundation of Rock Band to create a brand new and innovative Beatles experience."
Giles Martin, son of Beatles producer George Martin, is developing the product. The Beatles, who broke up nearly four decades ago, have been slow in embracing new technology: their music is still not available for sale on iTunes.
The band's management, Apple Corps Ltd., is partners in the project with MTV Games and Harmonix.
